Kaieteur Gold Jewellery Centre is owned and operated by Assad & Merline Kamal. Assad is a gold smith with forty years experience. Jewellery has always been his passion and at the age of fourteen, in his native Guyana, he began learning the trade. Assad immigrated to Canada and he continued the process at George Brown College. Merline is an experienced Purchaser & Bookkeeper. The team travels to New York regularly for workshops and seminars to keep up with the ever evolving technology.

Kaieteur Gold Jewellery Centre offers co-op placements for students in jewellery designing, and wax carving, and have been awarded the Cambridge Mayors Award of Excellence in 2004 in the retail division. Kaieteur Gold Jewellery Centre is also a member of The Canadian Jewellers Association.

Assad has always dreamed of owning a jewellery store and this became reality, in October 1992 when Assad and Merline opened a jewellery store at 800 Franklin Blvd., where they served the community for nine successful years before moving to their present location in January 2001.

The new location allows for more flexibility in servicing the community needs. Here we enjoy a spacious workshop of 1000 squar feet, which allows for the convenience of up to date technology and equipment, with an end result that satisfies our most discriminating customers.
